Wow. Things are popping up. Don't want to get too excited and announce them if theyre not going to happen... but I will say: I'm pretty fucken excited about it if it does. Right now I'm... drinking Jack & Cokes like a madman... trying to figure out how to put a music player on the site... am glad BASTIDAS are getting some sort of recognition on L.A. Record... and am in awe of how awesome "The Idiot" by Bowie/Pop is. Its a great record. (OMG: I found the very first Bowie album @ Amoeba for $1. Its amazing.) Anywho- listen to a track off our record until I figure out the whole player thing: by design. Love you. XX

Hello... hello... How are things? Rain getting you down? Recently laid off? Think the worlds going to shit? Well... I dont blame you. Its true... but you know what? Try. Try and do something with your life that will make you happy in the end... that way you cant say you never tried. Famous last words. I hope youre well out there... out there... theres new stuff up on the site. Dig around... I put up one of the album tracks. Were also playing soon, from what I hear... and were going out to San Francisco around April. Sounds like fun to me(!) since weve never played there. Hi. So... this is our new site :) woohoo! It took me a while but I figured out design stuff, and with the help of Richard, Im sorta getting some of the tech stuff too... sorta. Theres still alot of work and a bunch of stuff to add here. Most importantly, our album. Yay! Anyways, hi, how are you? Well I hope. Things are looking good on this side, Ive met alot of super nice people that I see every day that have brought back my belief that not all people are assholes. Thats a good thing. Maybe I wont be such a recluse anymore. If youre not busy on 2/5, theres a reggae show you should come out to at the Air Conditioned Club in Santa Monica. Testosterone makes you do crazy things sometimes. Like fall in love, or lust, or running a bunch of "what if's" thru your mind... it makes you see things that arent real or that you wish would be... at least for a moment or 2. What a mess. Not feeling so hot around here right now :( So let's just get down to whats most important on this here website: our album's done being mastered. Dont believe me? Here's a peek. It's a song about girls, of course.The link might take a while to load since its a wav file, but it wont be up long so check it out when you can! It's been alotttt of work making it so give it a listen, if you love it, or hate it, let me know here. I love hearing opinions, smart ones at least. "It sucks" isnt a smart one, fyi.

The internet... how i missed you... glad i got my shit together, that was a rough month or so. Anywho- happy new year! Things are looking good, our record's getting mastered, should be totally done by the end of this month. How crazy is that? it only took almost 2 years or so... and it is sounding buttah. im glad this time around we didnt rush too much and things got done when they were meant to be done. Its the way its supposed to be. The end of this past year was ever sooooo stressful for me to a degree that was kind of unbelievable so Im glad its mostly all behind me- things are going to be great this year, at least something in my gut keeps telling me. Charlie- I havent forgotten about you and im sorry i got caught up in a rut, should be clear quite soon and all those things are going your way. You rock! Almost... done.

Oh yeah... were on facebook now. I finally gave in. Does this mean I have to do the whole twitter thing too? Maybe once our album's getting closer to being done and all... dont think I have the patience for twitter right now :/ But yeah, add us on facebook, we'll send you stuff :)

Gawd... I just saw an old video and it really made me miss practicing and just plain old kicking it at Sik Studios. Thats the place where we totally came together and its still kind of a bummer that it died, or at least that the old incarnation of it died. Good times happened there, and its becoming a whole new thing that im sure is going to turn out dope, but it wont be Sik Studios. aaarrghhhhh... anywho, good things are happening with us. For one, mixing is totally done. Yes, DONE! Now its up to me to get it mastered and we'll all work out the artwork and such. Its alot of work getting something done right, especially if its coming out of your own pocket that you have to have a day job sustain. Shit, wheres my advance Universal???? haha We woulda had 3 albums done already. Anywho, new shit's happening with me, tho I cant reveal it just yet. Change is good, friends you can count on are good, reliable band mates are wayyyyy good(!) and of course, amazing fans like Charlie from NJ are toooo fucken good. You rock Charlie! Those shirt pix Ive been meaning to put up, I remember... cant do it just yet... love you who read these here ramblings! Hope everyones year is coming to an amazing end- I know mine is! XXXXX

Wow. Almost been a whole month... yowzaaaaa... anywho, i hope all is well with you, whoever you are. Its been kinda rough but things are looking promising, i see good things, good things damn it! I went to a titty bar a few weekends ago with Dirty Deee and his partner in crime after seeing the awesome HELEN STELLAR at Cinespace. Weird venue with all that Hollywood pizzazz. Hellen Stellar was loud and fuzzy, which i love, so i definitely had a good time. They were, dare i say: stellar. haha. So the titty bar, actually nude. Never been to one of those, it was like loving chocolate and going to Willy Wonka's. Crazy. It was a really fun night. The next day i caught what was supposed to be the last Bastidas show. Its definitely not their last show, and i actually missed their set. Still got to kick it with Sonia & Co tho, but then we saw the cops roll in and raid Silver Factory while we were in a car so I had to bounce. All that within like 10 mins., crazy :) I took pics of a couple of our friends wearing our shirts so i'll put that up soon, and about more stuff... soon. Its all coming together... slowly but surely...

Hi! Miss me? Didnt think so... wah wah wah.... anywho... news... news.... we have SHIRTS! Like, for real this time! Guess I should put up a pic of someone modeling one, eh? Only got mediums this time around tho. Ngene did a fantabulous job! Havent been able to update as much as I'd like do to my totally hostile workplace and since my mac died last week :( Tre' sad indeed. Kinda having a rough time but that tends to happen here and there so no use crying over it... worst thing is that the starter for my bike also kinda died so now im waiting for a new one to come in so I can get back on it. I love love love my bike, see:

Hi. So last show... some shit went down. One of the bands, didnt show up... (or left early?) and quite possibly, maybe stole one of the other band's toms? Its not for certain which is why Im not naming names. The drummer with the missing piece of said equipment freaked out for a good hour until he calmed down for a couple minutes to play a 15ish minute set. Since it was alot of dramaaaaa(!), the night was cut short, and one of the bands didnt get to play, tho they were a very courteous and very understanding bunch. It was quite nice to meet such a cool couple of guys. One of the bands that did get to play was M31. Right off the bat, they had sooper dooper cool attitudes and despite the drams, they just wanted to play a short set and check us out too since we havent seen each other play. Needless to say, theyre one of our local favs now thanx to their amazingly gracious attitudes and of course, their rocking music! Its great to know theres musicians like that out here.
As for us, were just going to play a few shows here and there until our album comes out and then were thinking of taking a ride up to San Fran and play a couple shows down along the coast. If this past gig taught me anything, its that were ready to go nuts. Were playing better than ever- and we hadnt practiced in well over a month. Its a shame that sounding good is only a small part of the equation when it comes down to getting some sort of attention, but we'll work with what we have. Everything's going to be allrightttttttttt....

Hi. Ok... feeling better about the previous post. Its complicated- at least I am.
Anywho- after almost being done with our mixes, theyve gone to our guitarist's brother-in-law for further touching up. We want to make this album fucken great- so no bullshitting allowed. Were glad that after alllll this time... its closer than ever to being done.

In other news, in case you didnt know, were playing this friday. Should be fun. The flyer made its way to L.A. Record via Daiana Feuer. Im also setting up a psych kinda deal for 10/15 @ Mr. T's so keep an eyeout... some pretty fucken good bands on the bill.
I hope everyone's feeling good out there... I finally got my bike last week so I cant wait to legally roll in it... and if youre cute or at least have a nice bootay, I'll give you a ride sometime :)

Something that happened many many years ago- is now happening again with a whole different cast. It's a bit strange, and I wish it wouldnt be driving me nuts.
I just want to go on tour and get away already. I just want to get away...The record is almost done mixing... it should be done by this weekend and mastered by the following week. Then I can work on getting away...

Hello there world........... aaaaaaargh! whenever im at work it feels like im in zombie mode- not craving brains or anything, just kinda going thru the motions. it sucks, but thats the life of an unprivileged worker bee :/ those 10 free shirt requests: done. you know, this here website tells me how many people check it out and it seems to be picking up for some crazy reason, im just glad people actually responded back wanting free SA shirts! we'll put some on sale for cheap once theyre done, should be sooner than later. The lots o' crap show didnt exactly turn out the way we thought, BUT: we didnt sound rusty and the vibe there was cool and people actually stayed at the Tribal Cafe for us despite the later-than-expected set time. we got good feedback and Deseret is cool as hell so check out her future shows and events here.
our album should be finished mixing by next weekend. were on a schedule here! its sounding better than i expected, we'll put up tracks here as soon as it is possible. its guaranteed to make you sway like a stoned hippie::::

working working... busy busy... new rehearsal spot, in Culver City... Sik Studios is under new management and undergoing renovations. Change isnt a bad thing, but maybe comfort is after a while. Mixing mixing... next week in our mixing facility in Glendale, still working on a name for the place, maybe... then master, get the art work all together, yada yada... shirts: soon! sorry ive been lagging ngene. (ngene's going to be our screen printer) you should check out his work.
Getting our shit together, slowly but surely. Sooner than you think. Were itching to play, and will: so come!

Setting up some reallyyyyyy good shows! First one's looking like a Lots O' Crap show on 8/10... The wonderful and mysterious Miss Deseret's taking advantage of Sean Carnage's break and setting up some good shit and were going to be in on it, w/deets to follow (which is funny since Sean Carnage would never want us)... and 9/5's looking like some amazing shit going down @ the Janestown ROOFTOP w/ What? & Ugly Ape, which have invited us. Were HUGE fans of invites to gigs!... & HUGE fans of What? and Ugly Ape...theres supposed to be 2 more bands on the bill so hold on for the details, Keighley of What? is just.... D-A-M-N. (!) if you havent seen them, you MUST! One of the hottest lead singer's e-v-e-r AND they rock the steel drums? shit!

So im done... or at least, 95% done with recording vocals so i've jumped into mixing... at least my own version of it since there might be another mix being worked out by Sik Studios. We'll see what works and what not. My own mixes are getting done pretty quickly so lets see how fast the brains @ Sik Studios work. (hopefully they can put the joint down! haha I kid) Been working alot lately (in the real world)... what a drag, but these days im quite lucky to have some dependable income. The other day @ the gym... yes, i go... i saw this one very short, thin girl with a massive booty. Im a big fan of a big booty (trust me) but there was something strange about it... cant figure it out, it was quite confusing... yeah, doesnt make sense but everytime i go now i keep an eye out! haha i absolutely love this weather, tho it kinda feels like a total tease since you can see the clouds just wanting to burst with rain but they dont... i think i heard the good folks @ Good Day L.A. say its been 21 days of this kind of weather? Love it. This pic here is of clouds in Iowa... supposedly NOT photoshopped and if thats true, thats kinda crazy... I myself feel like the clouds these days... just waiting to burst... I will... soon.

Ok- so were getting there on finishing up the recording/mixing...
The guitar's are sounding A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The drums are sounding deep and crisp... the bass is throbbing... completely psychedelic and tripped out, Im totally digging it!
Setting up gigs... what a nightmare. Really. Playing @ the Echo Curio?... I quote the booker- "... not happening." Pehrspace? Apparently weve been banned or something , which is weird since I remember about 30 people dancing to our set the last time we played there... oh so long ago...
So yeah... working on gigs... weve been playing out for about a year or so... were just babies... but this record's going to be classic.
